About Homeopathy

What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is an alternative, highly safe, quick and extremely effective method of healing. It is non toxic, and very efficient to treat either acute or chronic diseases. It strengthens your body´s defence system, helping you to eliminate various health problems, therefore increasing your quality of life and happiness.

Homeopathy is a gentle and revolutionary therapeutic system that was discovered by a German scientist Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, MD, in 1796, and has been verified experimentally and clinically for 200 years.

Conventional medicine will deal usually with the illness, whereas Homeopathy works by assisting the patients’ self-healing and self-regulating ability in promoting a return to balance and health by stimulating the body’s own natural immune response. It is gentle and practically free of side effects.

On 22 May 2006 His Royal Highness Prince Charles delivered a speech at the 58th World Health Assembly, Geneva, Switzerland, where he states the necessity for patients to be able to usufruct both conventional and alternative medicine as part of an integrate approach to healing. Is Homeopathy safe?

Homeopathy’s gentle action is increasingly attractive in the face of worries about safety and the side-effects of many conventional treatments. Two hundred years of practice, research and trials have proved the safety of Homeopathy for both people and animals. More recent studies have continued to demonstrate this consistently favourable safety profile. Unlike some conventional drugs, homeopathic medicines are non-addictive.

Holistic medicine

Homeopathy is a therapeutic system which has as its very basis a holistic viewpoint. It is designed to treat the whole person and can therefore be recommended in almost any situation where a person’s health is depleted, whether in the mental, emotional or physical sphere.

The concept of disease in Homeopathy is that disease is a total affection of mind and body; a disturbance of the whole organism.

It takes very much into account the personal characteristics of the individual. This means that homeopathic medicines are most effective when they are selected on the “total” characteristics set of symptoms, not just of the disease.

The result of this Homeopathic principle is that treatment is individualised. Two or more persons with the same clinical diagnosis may be given different medicines depending on the specific pattern of symptoms of illness in each person.

Minimum dose

Homeopathy uses dilute preparations that are by definition non-toxic. This is because homeopathic medicines are made from a very small, yet effective amount of the active ingredient.

This homeopathic principle states that extreme dilution enhances the curative properties of a substance, while eliminating any toxicity and possible side effects.

The ultra-high dilutions used in Homeopathy mean that the medicines are safe to use for babies, children and pregnant or breastfeeding women under the supervision of a medically-qualified practitioner.

Homeopathic medicines

The homeopathic medicines are prepared from natural substances to precise standards and work by stimulating auto-regulatory and self-healing process. Homeopathic medicines are developed in order to help in both physical and emotional problems.

By a special mode of preparation, over 2500 homeopathic medicines are prepared from sources such as vegetables, animals, minerals, chemicals, etc.

Homeopathic medicines are manufactured by serially agitated dilutions (a preparation of the original substance in water and alcohol). After dilution the medicine is added to lactose or sucrose tablets, granules or powders.
